Bumps Be Gone for Bug Bites

Bumps Be Gone is what I use for those pesky bug bites!

This natural and effective formula is a champion at relieving symptoms of Keratosis Pilaris. While using this balm to help my skin dissolve the Keratosis Pilaris bumps and recover from the years of scaring that go along with them, I've found it also reduces the itching and burning of mosquito bites, resulting in less scratching and faster reduction of the bite itself!

Zinc has astringent properties that helps to calm the bite and reduce itching. The soothing and cooling properties of azulene in the blue yarrow and blue chamomile cool the bite and act as an anti inflammatory to lessen the itching of the bite. This causes you to scratch less, and the bite will go away faster!

I remember growing up and being doused with a spray that smelled awful, I can still remember the taste in my mouth, and I'm not even sure it actually really worked, I still remember being covered in bug bites after a hike in the high country.

I studied holistic nutrition, which lead me to not only choose better foods for health, it also lead me to the world of plants and all their benefits. I came across all sorts of natural remedies, and one of them that I use all summer is my version of a homemade bug spray. I love it some much that I made over 100 bottles for my wedding and gave it as a wedding gift to all our guests.

Natural Mosquito Repellent Recipe:

Ingredients

1/2 cup of witch hazel

1/2 cup of water

2 Tbsps of neem oil

55 drops lemon eucalyptus essential oil (not recommended for use on children under 3 yrs.)

15 drops cedarwood essential oil

15 drops lavender essential oil (Lavandula angustifolia works best)

15 drops rosemary essential oil

2 tsps rubbing alcohol

Instructions

In a glass spray bottle, combine the essential oils.

Add the rubbing alcohol and shake

Add the witch hazel and shake again to combine.

Add the neem oil and shake, shake, shake.

Add the water and shake again.

Shake before each use as the oils and water will naturally separate over time.

Keep this by the door for easy access and use it consistently as you get out and enjoy the great outdoors!
